AUVarispeed Crash

FYI, regarding AUVarispeed and crashes. A user reports this:
Create a patch with AUAudiofileplayer + AUVarispeed + DefaultOutputUnit. Then, in the AUVarispeed, change the playback rate above 2 , or playback pitch above 1000, and the app will crash. I have filed a bug with Apple on this. It's not an Isadora crash, but a crash inside of Core Audio. Hopefully they will give me some help. But basically, anytime the playback rate exceeds 2.5x normal, it will crash. You can also use _two_ varispeed units, one after the other, and if the _combined_ rate is > 2.5x, it will crash. (You don't need the Matrix Reverb actor to cause the crash by the way.) My guess is that the sound file player just can't keep up -- and thus returns some nasty buffer and then the program crashes. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Mark Coniglio / TroikaTronix Creator of Isadora
