contrast actor not working???

contrast actor not working???	Can't Post

i just start working with this program a few days ago, so i could be missing something. the contrast adjust actor shuts down my movie player stream. it happens if its the only filter, and if there are more than one. i've tried all the settings on it. when i bypass it, the stream works fine. i'm not sure what else to try. my other filters (crop, hsl adjust etc) are all ok, even when teamed up.

I think I told you to update to the latest version and this solved the problem. Did the new version work for you?

hi mark,

i think i'm using the latest release (Version 1.2.8) and as digvid23 said the contrast actor only works when it's the only filter being used. if there are other filters before it, the contrast filter shuts down my video stream. i'm using a mac dual 2ghz power pc g5 with two gigs of ram.

Well I just did Movie Player -> Gaussian Blur (FreeFrame) -> Contrast Adjust -> Projector and all is well.

Perhaps you can propose a particular set of effects that cause the problem?

hi mark,

thanks for your prompt response. you're right that the contrast actor works fine on a new patch... but this is my problem....

if i build a new patch using the contrast actor, it works fine regardless of where it goes on the chain of actors, but if i try to insert the contrast actor into a preexisting patch, it blocks the image stream. now if i copy and paste the preexisting patch into a new isadora window, the contrast actor works again.

one solution is to copy and paste my old patch into a new file, then reconnect the patch to the control panel (which is not a big deal). but i would also have to reconstruct the order and bin structure of my clips in the media bin (which would be a big deal considering that i have about 800 clips separated into 10 categories).

so i guess the problem is how the contrast actor interacts in a patch built in a different version of isadora... any suggestions? is there any way of copying and pasting the media files from one patch ot another?

Dear Antonio,

You may need to send me your patch so I can try to recreate this. I can't seem to find any way to get the Contrast Adjust actor to fail in the way you describe.
