DMX control with Enttec DMX USB PRO Can't Post

Hello,

I'm trying to control the DMX USB PRO usb to dmx interface from ENTTEC with isadora. Is this possible, or can you only control DMX via ethernet with the lanbox? I'm trying to make an application that works as a videomixer and controls a pantilt cam and DMX...

The mixer i'm making in Isadora is based on the VJ software modul8, and has a lot of similar features. The pan tilt control I borrought from Michel (thanks!), and the dmx control I still have to make...

I allready have all the necessary peripherals for the dmx, but i just don't get it running... I will use five servo motors, a dmx to servo interface (http://dmx4all.de/shopx/product_info.php/info/p114_DMX---8Kanal-Servointerface.html) and a dmx dimmer. Can somebody give me some help?

Thanks,

Ief.

How does the DMX USB PRO receive commands? The ways you can communicate with Isadora are 1) Serial Output (RS-232), 2) MIDI Output, and 3) Open Sound Control Output. If your device does not receive any of these protocols, then Isadora cannot control it directly.

Best Wishes,
Mark

ok I get it... It communicates via a DMX protocol. So i will have to buy a lanbox or a similar interface. I bought this one because it was cheap and has DMX in AND out... In max/msp I communicate with this interface via an 'dmxusbpro.mxo' object.

Thanks!

Is the code for the max actor Open Source? If so, we could create an open source Isadora actor from the same code.

Best,
mark
