OSC problems... between Isa & Max/msp Can't Post

Hello Mark,

Fred and me are trying to communicate between Isadora and Max/msp.

3 Sensors are connected to Isa, 2 are sending datas via OSC transmit to Max/Msp ===> OK
Try to send back these 2 datas (the same) from Max/msp to Isadora via OSC listener ===> nothing happens

And we configure the Port (7474) in Isa preferences...
So, What else ?

Thank you for help !
Donald

Its the intel/isadora/OSC problem, Isadora on intel cannot (for someone) receive osc from max/msp.
if you are on the same machine, it's possible to communicate via midi.
On different machine, I made a little patch in Max to convert OSC to midi and send it to Isadora (working in background).

Are Type Tags turned on? This is required for Isadora to receive OSC messages.

Mark,

Yes, i tried all the combinations and with the same patch, an OSC comming from Max/Msp is received on Isadora/PCC (miniMac) and not on Isadora/Intel (MacBookPro). I made a max patch (working in background) transforming OSC to midi Controlchange and it work.

Well, all I can say is that I tried all of the combinations, using Isadora on the Mac and EyesWeb on the PC. All of these communications worked:

Mac Intel -> Windows XP Intel
Mac PPC -> Windows XP Intel

Windows XP Intel -> Mac PPC
Windows XP Intel -> Mac Intel

Mac Intel -> Mac PPC
Mac PPC -> Mac Intel

So I don't know quite what to say. It would seem to indicate there is some problem with the Mac Intel, but I cannot see it or recreate it.

What about Isadora on PPC and Intel -- do they communicate via OSC correctly? (I.e., miniMac to MacBookPro and back?)

Best,
Mark

Mark,

The problem is between max/Msp on PPC and Isadora on Intel.

Is the Max patch using the proper byte order? I assume you've tried sending messages from PPC Max to Intel using some other program?

Perhaps you can send me the Max patch... I'll download the Max player to try it out. Hopefully I can do that without actually editing... as I don't have a copy of Max myself.

Best Wishes,
Mark

Have you tried using udpsend, rather than otudp in max - my understanding is that Cycling recommend using this now.
Cheers

Nick
