ethernet camera Can't Post

Hello,

Does anyone have some experience with ethernet cameras? I would like to control pan/tilt and zoom/focus of a canon VB-C50 IP or axis 213 ptz camera with isadora. It used to work with serial connected cameras like the VC-C50 from canon, but they don't make them anymore.

Ief.

Hello Ief

You can still buy the VC-C50i Camera from Canon http://www.usa.canon.com/...58&modelid=11206. And they say on the website for that the VB-C50i is controlable over RS-232 http://www.usa.canon.com/...60&modelid=11847.

Michel

PS: You can download a control patch for the Camera from this thread http://forum.troikatronix.com/...-c4_and_vc-c50_P727/

Re: [michel] ethernet camera [In reply to] Can't Post

Hello Michael,

Thx. Probably they still will be for sale somewhere, but my canon dealer in Belgium said that canon stopped making them...

Do you have experience with ethernet cameras and isadora? I think that rs-232 cameras will be more and more difficult to get. Thats why i want to change to an ethernet control system.

I already downloaded your control patch. Very nice work...

Ief.

Hi Ief,

I don't have any experience with ethernet cameras, but I think someone at our theater talked about buying the vb-c50. Maybe I then can get my hands on it. We will see.

Michel
