An Audio Out from Movie Player actor is the first request that springs to mind.
Secondly some method of being able to control published inputs from Quartz composer files would be fantastic

This is a QuickTime issue. Many of us on Apple's QuickTime API list have requested this. They'll never say when a feature is going to appear, but I'm hopeful for 10.5.

Does this mean its not possible to render Audio that has been through an Audio Unit effect in Isadora ?

You mean to a file... hmmm... there's no "audio file writer" actor for sure. I'll have to look into this. There should be a way to get an Audio Unit chain to do this, but it will require some reserach.

If you really need it now, I'd recommend Audio Hijack Pro. The free version allows you to record for 10 minutes or something. It's a great, handy app to have in your toolbox.
