FEATURE REQUEST - QT Text-Based or Chapter-Based Triggers/Events Mark - First, I always want to thank you for a great piece of software! It would be terrific if Isadora had an actor to read a Quicktime text track (or chapter track). This would allow us to embed timeline-based text markers in a movie, synchronized to the video and audio tracks, that could be used to trigger Isadora events, such as cue-based scene changes, lighting cues, etc. The QT utility Magpie is a free, easy way for anyone to create and/or update QT text synchronized to a QT video/audio movie. So the QT text to timeline editing question would not be an issue for users. Yes, I know about the Media Time actors and the Comparator actors -- but these are different beasts (nice ones, admittedly) that do not -- and this is the key thing -- do not let us embed the triggering datum in the QT movie itself. With an Isadora "Get Text" actor, text in the QT movie, such as "1" "2" "3" could be read in order to trigger the full panoply of Isadora functions -- wow! Thanks for considering this. FYI - as you have requested, I also posted this feature request to the Isadora bug/feature request page. James Nevin
