This might not solve your problem, but did you make sure to have "keep aspect" turned on in the projector?

hate to dissapoint you, but that is not the solution.
it is more of a quicktime problem and the way it does not recognise formats other than 4:3.

did anybody ever have the same problem and found an efficient workaround?

if not, you will have one in a few days. :)

I'm not sure what you mean with QT not handling non 3:4 aspects. I've never run into a non 3/4 screen QT wouldn't play. This probably won't help with your problem , but you should lower the resolutions of your images to something closer to what your final outputs will be for efficiency sake. I can't remember right now, but depending on the codec, QT has limits on resolution and color depth.

The 'keep aspect' input of the projector should maintain the aspect ratio. I haven't heard about QT not liking non 4:3 aspects. It should do any resolution you like and maintain that.

seems like the trouble was in the picture size, as photos were coming in approx. 3504x2336 pixels. once cut down to a 1000x700 it works fine with the keep aspect ratio.

I don't know if this limitation is a hardware (graphic card can't cope with big images) or software ( izzy can't cope :)

this problem somehow relates to the picture import order, as most of the time they import fine, but on some occasions it just gets jumbled up.

I will experiment some more and let you know.

I think the problem is probably the graphics card... Isadora will process video at any size, though it may be slow.
