3D Player help Can't Post

I have tried everything I can think of to get a 3D object to work, and I still haven't been able to get anything to happen.

I have hardware acceleration on. Other 3D actors, like the 3D Projector work. I have a player and a renderer in my scene and both are set to the same channel. Everything is set to on, and the output is connected to a projector that otherwise works fine. I've tried every possible combination I can try, and I have tried the 3D Light Orientation actor and 3D Stage Orientation. Nothing seems to work.

What am I missing? I have searched the forum and the internet and no one else seems to have this problem, so I may just be missing something obvious.

Hi

Try using the 3D example in the tutorial that came with the program... if that works, then cut and paste with your own objects. I had some trouble when making forms in Carrara (had to attach a texture in order to "coat" with video in Isadora, but it worked.

Good luck

To wrap video around the object, you must have a texture assigned to the object. Otherwise there is no way for Isadora to know the "texture coordinates" and wrap the video.

Alos, you should turn the lighting input on, and add a 3D Light Oritentation actor, with the mode set to _global_. Then you can control the lighting on the object.

Let me know if this helps.

Best,
Mark

Re: [Mark Coniglio] 3D Player help [In reply to] Can't Post

Thanks for the help. I had missed the example in the tutorial and it helped some. I discovered that I was right in the middle of my model and scaling it way down and sending it in the negative z direction made it show up where I wanted it. The coordinate system doesn't work like I had expected it to.

Still trying to make sense of the 3d light orientation actor. Changing values doesn't seem to make too much difference in what I see. I have gotten video to work on my 3d objects though.
