Hi-
I'm unable to use my MacPro tower for performance because the serial ports are not sending the right data to trigger video switchers. I have a Keyspan 4 port usb serial adapter. I'm triggering three Inday 4X1 video switchers. When I A/B the usb serial adapter between my G5 and the MacPro, nothing gets switched on the Indays. I went through trial and error in the first place to find a usb serial adapter that worked at all with my G5. Does anyone know of a serial adapter that would work with the MacPro and OSX.5 (Leopard)?

According to Keyspan's website, all of their USB to Serial Adapters models USA-xxx and UPR-xxx port replicators are compatible.

I haven't had the need to use a 4-port switch, and it's likely you have an older model without compatible drivers... Though the 4-port USB hub currently listed on their products page does not have a 10.5 driver download... and it's considered to fall under the USA-xxx type....

However, I know for certain the standard 1-port USB adapter works - http://www.keyspan.com/products/usa19hs/ and the downloads link has a 10.5 driver update available.

Hey William-
Thanks for the info. They say on the website that it checks out with 10.5, but my experience is different. They aren't responding to my email. I will get another four-port serial adapter by another company if I need to, but I won't be able to tell if it works at all until I try it.

Have you tried the single USB to serial adapter with Leopard or only the four port?

Good approach. I must have one here someplace. I do have another four-port serial adapter on the way, but the single is a good troubleshooting step. Thanks for the help.
