AUAudio File Player/mapping audio parameters	Can't Post

(Mac, Core version, 10.5.3, MOTU TRavveler interface)
Greetings. I am trying to use the output of the AUFIle Player as input to an AU audio processing plug-in, but I am not clear how to or even if the AUFile Player needs a trigger like the normal Sound Player does. Can't seem to get it to produce any output directly or through the plug-in. Are there additional docs for the Core version or any of the AU plugs?
Ultimately, I am trying to set up a configuration where I want to use real time audio input (or an audio file from disk ) to modify the parameters of an AU plug-in, such as some spectral processing tools. The problem there is that when I send the external audio into Isadora, I only here the dry audio signal but not the processed audio.
So
1. How is the AU File PLAyer triggered or configured?
2. Is it possible to use a Frequency or Level watcher on an external audio signal and map the output of the Level or Watcher to some param of an audio plug-in?

You should not need to trigger the AUSoundFilePlayer. But, if it is not routed to an Core Audio output module (e.g., Default Sound Output) it will not play... ultimately, all Core Audio modules in a patch are dormant until they are actually routed to an output.

The Sound Level Watcher and Sound Frequency Watcher only accept input from a live source, such as "Line In" or "Built-in Microphone" or your MOTU if you select it in the Audio Midi Control Panel. You cannot route the output of a file to these plugins.
