Audio problems on Movie player

I'm having a strange problem with the audio on my movie files. When I import them and pause and restart the engine, the videos play with sound once and them play again. I'm converted all the files to photo jpegs using Final Cut Pro and Compressor. I've tried posting strainght MP4's but have the same problem, although I have tried some standard MP4 files that seem to work fine. the only difference with the my video this time is that I shot in wide screen and nested the footage into a 320 x 240 footage to keep the proportions (i.e. I have black bars at the top and bottom). Does anyone have any suggestions?
