Yes, you could do this with Isadora, but my guess is that they made this with Processing. It has the look of a piece Barbarian Group made a few years back, particularly in the movement of the text boxes.

In Izzy, you should read up on the Eyes++ and the Blob Decoder actors. With a combination of those 2 actors, a camera, and some time, you'll be able to mimic this, no doubt.

Good luck!

Re: [william] BMW THINK LIKE NO ONE [In reply to] Can't Post

I read about this project - it used vvvv :
http://vvvv.org/...gId=4&postId=201
There are a couple of freeframe plugins bundled with VVVV that are modelled on Open CV functions and one of these - Object Detect does excellent Face Tracking (using Haar Classifiers).
Unfortunately the freeframes won't work with any hosts apart from vvvv as they are non standard.

I recently did a project where I did the face tracking using vvvv and send the video to Isadora using the Fug streaming freeframe plugin.
It worked and was pretty stable but its a bit clumsy.

I'd love to be able to use this face tracking within Isadora. Thought about trying to do it but I've no idea where to start.

You can use the OpenCV functions in various other apps including Processing. There is a beta of open CV for Quartz Composer (potential integration into Izzy!) from Kineme but its slow at the moment. I should also mention Open frameworks.

Here's a link to an OS X app with a processing example:

I spent quite alot of time researching this! I've done some face tracking based on skin colour using isadora too - can work for some situations.

You maybe weren't even interested in the face tracking aspect! I should rpobably stop now.

Gavin
