Izzy with Matrox DH2GO on a PC Desktop Can't Post

Hi all,
Í am trying to implement an analogue DualHead2Go on an XP/Pro SP2 (750MbRam) PC with Izzy. I have loaded all the latest drivers and software. The DH2G is working OK and Izzy is working ok, just not at the same time. The PC is crashing catastrophically with the BlueScreenOfDeath and varius errors reported on said BSOD, though usually it's DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and some indication that various Read-Only memory is being stomped over. I have tested extensively, and the problem only occurs when the projector is invoked. Has anyone had this problem before? Any suggestions? I have played the movie via the Quicktime player on the DH2G screen with no problems and I have tried the various write to video methods and have turned off/on the hardware acceleration. I am at loss. Someone please tell me there's a quick fix, we open tomorrow and I will have to cut the video component if it won't work which will be a shame.
Thanks all,
Nick Higgins

I've not tried using Isadora with a DH2Go on a PC... so I'm afraid I can't elaborate.

But one thing to try to see if it makes a difference:

Go to the Qucktime Control Panel
Click the advanced tab
Turn on Safe Mode (GDI Only)

and try again. This is not a great solution, because it bypasses the advantage of DirectDraw. But it would be good to know if this causes the problem to stop.

If this solves the problem it could be a driver issue. I am personally having an issue with Isadora using the nVidia card on my Mac Book Pro (running Windows XP + QT 4.5.1 and BootCamp 2.1) that I believe to be driver related.

Thanks Mark,
I reduced the file size of the movie which stopped the crashing. I daren't try anything yet as everything is working OK and I don't want to fix something that ain't broke! As soon as the show is over, I will play around with settings, file sizes and the like until I can give a more precise description of the problem. I will also try it on a couple of machines, including my Imac (just as a control, 'cause I don't expect any problems there)

What resolution is your DH2Go set to, I know with my Radeon ATI cards that something like 2600 pixels wide is that largest it can draw.
Not sure why it's just width not total pixels that makes the difference.

Also based on my experiences with 3D cards and another post I just saw here about crashing on an Nvidia card I suspect that trying to draw too big a 3d accelerated screen may crash the Nvidia cards too.

So I'd try turning off Open GL in Isadora to see if that is in fact the case, but since you probably still want Open GL acceleration the solution is probably to reduce the resolution.
You could try just reducing the color depth, or reducing the pixel size. Or even tweaking the 3d setting is the video card drivers to make sure some crazy anti-aliasing isn't turned on trying to draw the 3D scene 4x as big as your monitor.
