Live cam via 1394/iLink Can't Post

Hello y'all my name is Guilherme Nader I'm 15 and I work at a video shop, our clients who need cameras switches usually buy MX-70's ( a little panasonic toy that cost nearby to US$7.000 for sell with all taxes Pirate) or other video effects table. Not everybody can pay for this, some churchs for example. I see Izzy working at a PC on a shopping exposure event. And I get so much interested. I search it on google and a link put me here, I download and get one day to learn how to put video on movie player and link together effects plus to projector (wasn't so easy, when you don't kow how to works you try everything, dragging a movie from media window to the 'workspace' for example Angelic).
My biggest problem is how to create an actor of live cameras (It's possible, don't is ?) and other to select what of them will appear on the projector. I try searching a post of how to do it, I don't find...
I hope anybody send me a how to and if the favor isn't so big a screenshot o the actors scheme working in this case, if anybody want to say that already exists a post of how to make this just put the link...

Tongue Thanks, Guilherme Nader

Hi Guilherme

It is not possible to run more than one live camera yet, but there are other ways to do that, for example here.
In the screenshot (see attachment) you see how to use the "video in watcher" with one camera. The "panner" actor is to select what of the input will appear, but I think you wanted to ask how to choose from different cameras, see first sentence.

Thanks for support... I just want an economic (isadora is so cheap) solution for our shop, you know we are every time triyng to help the professional life of our clients, so they'll buy with us =B
But now, for my use...
Can you send another SS with a diagram to entry with an analogic video (S-Video or AV) in isadora, so I'll use te actors to do realtime effects.
An AG-456 from panasonic ( we're in her birthmonth, 9 years old Tongue) will enter trough a PCI card (imagine the cheapest in the world, mine is cheaper) which use MPEG codec, i don't know if isadora will see cuz my little knowledges about say that she just know .mov... I even don't know if isadora 'read' analog signals
The AG-456 will be filming a guitar presentation from a friend. I'll need to take my pc with it, cuz my notebook is like the PCI card (cheaper than the world's cheapeast) and even haven't a 1394 port ! I don't know when I'll read an answer or if I'll, is summer on Brazil, so I may get a beach on Rio de Janeiro.

Thanks Again, Nader

It's defiantly a unique programing environment that you need to learn.
But did you get the manual?
http://troikatronix.com/izzy-download.html#manual

What you are looking for to get live video to a projector is the video in watcher.
Check the manual for more info, because after hooking it up, you need to turn on video input.

I can't say if your capture card will work, I've had pretty good luck with many cheap (and crappy) cards on windows, though sometimes I have to go find alternative drivers rather than the ones that come from the manufacturer.
(well actually from the "real" manufacturer, not from the retail packager)

Anyway Isadora may or may not do what you want, it only takes in one live feed at a time right now and does not act as a live video mixer.
There are some hacks to get around this on the forum, but they may not be for you since you give up quality.

But if you need to mix live with recorded footage then it may do what you need.

=D I apreciate you losing your time for help me, thanks very much
Unfortunatelly my english is a big sh*t, so what I read on manual doesn't help me...
I'll try again another day, my AG-456 battery is with the memory effect, you can charge 100% but she'll understand that she have 5% so with only ones minutes the camera get off and I don't have the cable to turn AC directly to the camera =/
Is summer at Brazil and my City was sooooo hot, I'm planning a vacation to Rio de Janeiro, so I may be off from 'my world' a time that I don't know if I'll be a week or a month, maybe more...

The upcoming pre-release version of Isadora will accept four camera inputs simultaneously. (There is still a problem with using multiple DV cameras -- this is a hardware issue, not something that can be changed.) But I am testing with my internal iSight, a DV camera, and an external USB capture device, and they co-exist nicely.

This new version will appear very soon at http://www.troikatronix.com/izzy-updates.html

Best,
Mark
