Need to send data out of Isadora into Applescript	Can't Post

Hi,

I am trying desperately to send two numbers out of Isadora into something that I can access from an applescript so that can I do some text file (EDL) lookups. I have the communication back into Isadora working over the network listener, but I haven't figured out how to get the variables out of izz over either network broadcaster or OSC broadcaster into the applescript. Does someone know a nice solution for this? I am a networking absolute beginner.

Deadline rapidly approaching for exhibition and this is my last bug to solve. Help?

I don't have a solution for sending data back and forth to AppleScript. And, as far as I know, there isn't any OSC support for Applescript. I'll have to look into what this might take, but for now I'm afraid I have nothing to offer you.

Hi Mark,

I've come up with what I think is a work-around to the problem, using a java script in quartz composer
reading in an XML file instead of the apple script to do my data look-ups, but I can't seem to pass
anything other than floating point numbers from isadora in and out of my quartz patch. Is that right? If I
send an integer (index) or a string, isadora either ignores it or brings it up as type "image". Is there
a way to specify another data type to the quartz patch at the isadora end?

integers and floats are it from Izzy to Quartz in my experience

The upcoming version of Isadora plays much nicer with QC, passing strings and index parameters, etc. I'm going to open the beta test up to the forum users soon... so keep an eye out for the posting.
