Reading from an XML Can't Post

Hey everyone,

I've been trying to get Isadora to display a line of text from an XML document for a program I'm building. Does anyone know how this can be achieved?

Basically I have a program that passes text messages from a cell phone to an XML document on my computer. I want the text messages to update in Isadora when they are received.

Thanks!

Create a Quartz Composer composition and use the XML Downloader patch. You might parse with the QC Structure Maker patch from Kineme.net. Then use a String to Image patch and publish the output. Put the the QC composition in your Freeframe folder and it should show up in your Izzy Video actors list. The published output from QC will be an image output you can display in Izzy. Best to use the CoreImage version of Isadora.
