Running an Apple Script from Isadora? Can't Post

I just discovered Apple Script (I'm new to Mac) and found a script to open iTunes and have it play a specific playlist.

Is there a way I could have Isadora run the script?

My hope is to set a time for iTunes to automatically open and play the playlist, and then I'll have Isadora bring up the faders on my digital mixer.

thanks.

Here's what I've found, so far.

There's a program I'm trying out called OSCulator. It receives OSC data, and then you can do different "stuff"... including executing AppleScript.

It also executes Keystrokes and Keystroke Combinations, and a couple other things.

It seems to be working so far... but, I'll probably still add a feature request for native AppleScript support.

I've avoided allowing Isadora to run a script because of security concerns. (I.e., the Applescript could erase your hard drive.) Because of this, I do not feel it is a good idea to allow Isadora to do this. (Otherwise, upon executing the AppleScript, I'm also going to have to implement warnings alerting the user that Isadora might be attempting to do something nasty...)

Best Wishes,
Mark

That makes sense. The OSCulator app is working very well for me to do this.

Yes, OSCulator is fantastic actually. Several of the workshop participants used it in last week's Live-I Workshop in NYC, and it was really quick, easy and reliable. (Much better than my open source Wii Watcher actually, especially since you can use up to four Wii controllers. It's free if you're willing to wait 15 seconds on startup before you use it.)

See http://www.osculator.net

Best,
Mark
