Shading of 3D objects? Can't Post

Hi, I'm working on a projection at 3LD, that is basically 3D objects (imported in .3ds format) which move in various ways responding to music.

Is there any way to affect how the objects are shaded? They currently appear on the stage in Isadora only as solid white silhouettes. E.g. a white sphere looks like a white circle, not a shaded sphere.

I can apply a texture in my 3D program, and the texture does appear in Isadora; but still there is no shading: the parts of the object that are angled away from the camera at any given time, are equally bright (100% bright) as the parts facing the camera.

Is there any workaround for this, or has someone else achieved shading?

I realize there's no way to place lights in the scene, so shading is a kind of arbitrary thing; but still, 3D programs seem to handle this ok even when there are no lights.

I had sort of assumed that this would work and am now having one of those "Oh, I assumed wrong, what's plan B" moments...

Thanks,
Dan

Place a a 3D Light Oritentation actor in the same scene with your 3D Player, and then turn on the 'lighting' input to the 3D Player.

That should do the trick.

Best,
Mark

Oh! That did the trick! Can't believed I missed that.
Thanks, it's working great now.
