can izz do a keypress? Can't Post

Hi
This is my first post on the forum and I hope you can point me in the right direction.
I was wondering if there was a way of enabling an external key press event from within isadora? - For example when something or someone enters a specific column being monitored by the eyes actor, can i then turn the trigger this creates into a key press of my choice? i.e make the trigger act as if the key 'A' has just been pressed?
I want to try to use this keypress to control an external application (flash) which will be active in the background and playing on a separate monitor.
Any advice welcome
thanks
J

hi Graham
and thanks, the trigger value is a good starting point, though its more of a physical button press i require
for flash macromedia to pick up externally.

Inside isadora is there anyway of triggering the 'keyrange' actor to press a chosen key from
the activity monitored within the eyes actor?

I don't think Isadora can mimic a keypress.

If you want to communicate with Flash you could use Flosc:
Here's a forum post about it

Or maybe some Midi to Keyboard converter? Google "Midistroke" or "GlovePie"

On mac you can also use OSCulator to trigger key presses - so you could send an OSC message from Izzy

To answer your question definitively, there is no way for Isadora to simulate a keypress in another application.

Sorry!

Best Wishes,
Mark
