compressing video for internet Can't Post

Ok, sorry bout this being not directly related to Isadora but i guess here I'll easily find an answer.
I've found quite a good compromise for compressing video into quicktime movies to use live but i can't get the same satisfaction when dealing with compressions for internet streaming. Let's say i have an 8 min video on Finalcut.. wich setting should i use when exporting it? I've tried sevaral combinations but can't obtain any good result. It's always too big or too poor..

thanks in advance
b.

Use flash for web-based videos whenever possible. The file size will be much smaller than quicktime and will look better. There are lots of different software options for encoding to Flash available. And remember, multi-pass will look better than single pass encoding.

If you're married to quicktime, the best codec currently available and in wide-spread use is h.264. Fiddle with the keyframe and bit rate settings on export until you find something that suites your needs.

Flash video sucks.

Use Divx and upload to stage6.divx.com
