Izzy plays quicktime, so if you can play it in quicktime you can play it in izzy.

The rest is up to your computer. There are endless ways of encoding video and configuring hardware.

Try to get something running smooth in a movieplayer. I like the DVCproHD codec because it's not mp2.

See how low you can go with the bitrate wile maintaining acceptable quality.

The first thing you wanna do with HD is to RAID (JBOD) a couple of drives to get more data through.

I get 260 megs per second with the following configuration inside a G5 tower:

• 1X: 4 internal esata busses for 150 bucks
Sonnet Tempo SATAII X4i PCI-X 4x
• 4X: 1GB esata drives for about 100$ a pop:
Samsung SpinPoint F1 Series for example
• drive cage for internal mounting, 150 bucks?
http://www.sonnettech.com/product/g5_jive.html

that will give you a 4TB monsterfast raid internally.

I have two and they are great for HD editing.

Hi

I'm using Isadora aswell for playing HD movies. I've made some simple tests, and for me on a Mac Pro it seems like the Animation codec is the most effective. But i might be wrong. The reason is that the animation codec doesnt compress very much, so the computer doesnt have to deencode the material, but it does take alot of space.

The better graphicscard, the more you can play. And if you want to have multiple outputs, its a good idea to have a GPU for each projector.
