hello super forum helpers,

let me start off by saying i am a newbie to isadora, and i'm using it for a school project, and i'm sort of stuck...
i would like to see live feed video via my webcam but isadora does not wish to allow me to do this.
i am running on the windows platform, isadora version 0.9b38. i have tried using two different webcams, both connected via firewire.
when i plug the cams in, my computer recognises them, and is able to display the live feed fine, but when i ask isadora to do so,
the errors i get are "0TOSIBA Video Capture-WDM : Problem connecting Video Output to Quicktime" and "0TOSIBA Video Capture-WDM : Problem connecting Video Output to Video Renderer"

I have the latest version of quicktime, but I'm afraid that isadora just doesn't like me because i'm a pc not a mac. any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated,

Brian, The support for the QuickTime VDIG stuff is spotty at best. That's why you're having trouble.

But, there is a version which isn't fully public yet that uses Windows native code to talk to the camera. It should work fine with your web cam. Uninstall the current version and install this

Is it just me, or does the 'Capture To Disk' actor not work in this version?

Capture to Disk (which captures the live feed from the camera) does not work with the Native Capture version. This feature is heavily based in QuickTime. I am working towards a solution, but it's going to take at least a month.

If you really need this feature, you will need to downgrade to the older VDIG version, which can still be download from the web site http://www.troikatronix.com/izzy-download.html

Please Help

I'm working with the version that is mentioned in this last post (the unreleased one that allows video in from Windows), and am unable to change my preferences. It crashes everytime...Please Help!
