particles following eyes limitation Can't Post

I'd like to have the eyes actor direct the particles as eyes follows the video in watcher and people dance with glow sticks as to make the particles follow the glow stick around. The problem that I've found is that the particle emitter can only move around the center of the image area.

Is there a way to make the particle emitter go further or fix this problem?

Not sure what you mean by the image area? Do you mean you want the particles to go off the stage? or are the particles not hitting the edge of the stage?

Im a bit unclear by what you mean.

An instant without duration....

Right, If you move the X & Y parameters of the 3D particle they only shift the particles within one-third of the total stage area.
I had to fisheye the video into the area that the particles were able to move.

there's a clip of that as an attachment

Just realized I was using the 1.2 version of Isadora. Works fine now, thanks.

Tow important things to try:

1) change the z-translate input of the Particle System actor. This will bring the particles closer or further away, thus getting them to fill more or less space on the stage.

2) click on the 'x' and 'y' inputs with the mouse to open the inspector box; note the 'scale min' and 'scale max' inputs are set from -100 to 100. If you change the scaling to say, -200 and 200, then the particles will cover more horizontal and vertical space, again filling the stage.

By carefully adjusting these settings, you should be able to get a 1 to 1 relationship between the things being tracked in the live image and the position of the particles.

Let me know if this helps!

Best,
Mark

Alright, all works well... I'm able to have particles follow a glowstick. What about two glowsticks? Would blobs help or ... I guess I'll need to work with two different colored glowsticks, but how do I get Eyes to only see one of the glowsticks? Any thoughts?

p.s. thanks for the particle tips.

Yeah... use Eyes++ and the split out the blobs using the Blob Decoder, each one of those going to a particle system actor. Note that it's a good idea at that point to use the 'tracking' output of the Blob Decoder to control the visibility of the particles somehow.

Best,
Mark

this could be confusing to many, for I'm in the middle of the maddness but here's what I've got on the particles following eyes. For some reason the MacBook Eyes needs a double flip on the video feed to have the partlicles following eyes. So If you want particles following eyes, you'll find it in there.
Works great with glowsticks (I've been testing with my lighter)
No time at this moment to pull only the needed actors now. After this weekend I'll have time.
