Re: [hydroid] AJA Cards [In reply to] Can't Post

Not familiar with the card, but took a quick gander on the web.

The only way this might be possible is if the card shows up as an "External Video Out" device in the "Output" menu. If it doesn't show up there, there is no driver to receive the signal. This is how a DV Device and (I think) things like the DeckLink show up. Maybe others know more?

Re: [hydroid] AJA Cards [In reply to] Can't Post

I have tested the AJA Kona LSe and the DeckLink SP PCIe, my experiences in short.

1. It is NOT possible to Input video, get it through Isadora and output it with the same card. Only loop through possible.
2. It is NOT possible to have 2 Kona LSe or 2 DeckLink SP cards one for the input and the other for the output.
3. But the cards are recognized by Isadora.
4. If you use one of these cards for output the hardware accelerated rendering (OpenGL) doesn't work.

So now we are using the DeckLink SP PCIe for the input and the built in graphic card (NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GT 256MB) for the output.

I think if the KONA 3 is recognized there should be no problem to choose either the KONA or the firewire IO.
