McBook EFI firmware update OK, but H.264 problems

I have an Intel MacBook and occasionally run the software update to see what I should be doing with it. However, after the problems with Quicktime 7.2 I'm not allowing automatic updates in case Apple do something that clashes with Isadora again. Thankfully the "backdater" trick to knock back the QT to 7.16 worked well for me and I'm sticking there until the word on this forum says that QT works properly again. I am wondering about this new firmware update though, whether anyone has allowed it yet and if it has had any issues? I'm a month away from my next gig so could afford a short hiccup, but don't want to tempt fate, especially since Apple have proved a little treacherous with the iPhone update system banjaxing unlocked handsets. Anyone run this update with no issues?
Edit: Have applied this update and so far so good - Isadora seems to run OK, play sound etc. and record from the stage - providing I don't choose h.264 compression, after which I can't record anything but a blank 0'00" mov file, even when changing back to a different codec (a restart of Isadora cures this). I think this problem existed before the update, so whilst I'd like to use h.264 for smaller files I can't currently, and don't want to use QT 7.2 because of the other things it might affect. Joe ST
