Scond video card for a G5 Tower? Can't Post

I am looking to add a second card to a MacPro Tower (Dual G5 2.0Ghz PCIE). It has the stock nVidia 5200 card in it. I need at least one more stage. I have heard bad things about mixing nVidia and ATI cards. Is there an nVidia card available for this machine that is PCI?

Also, I saw a post from Mark a couple of days ago that suggested someone is running an ATI 9200 in a similar configuration with an nVidia in the main slot. Am I misreading, or is that something that could work? If so, any glitches experienced?

Thanks a lot for the help,
Josh.

I had this same machine for 2 past projects. On the first project, the production manager made the mistake of installing an ATI card in the second slot, and we never got all of the outputs working.

On the second project, I replaced the nVidia card with an ATI card, and put in a second ATI card below it. This worked great, and we had all of the outputs working properly.

Checkout for legacy video cards for these machines. Hopefully they still have them in stock.

Cheers,
William

William- thanks for the quick feedback. I bought an ATI 9200 and slapped it in there, and went looking for another AGP card, but we got 2 video out of the ATI and one out of the nVidia, which is all we needed, so we're sticking with that config for now. I was able to get a feed out of the VGA and SVideo outs, but not the DVI on the ATI card. Strange. The SVideo out was perfect, though, as we are just running to a stack of TVs.

Thanks again!
Josh.
