Video capture Can't Post

I can hook up my Panasonics DVX100B and I get and image, but as soon as I move the camera quickly -- a swish pan it freezes. even at 15 frs. sec and at the lowest quality. Is moving the camera quickly a no no?

Re: [Dutch] Video capture [In reply to] Can't Post

Fast moving images absolutely cannot cause capture to stop.

A far more likely scenario is that the firewire cable is being jostled, and thus becoming momentarily disconnected. This could cause the freeze... if the signal is lost on FireWire, you need to stop capture and start it again to get things going.

Best,
Mark

I have found in the past some firewire cables have been faulty, especial the mini DV to firewire ones. Try a different cable or try fixing the mini dv physically to the camera: cello tape?

I doubt it is the firewire port on you're computer because they have the little rubber strips and are normally quite secure.

Let us know how it goes.
