analog video output on macpro Can't Post

This question was few times allready treated here, but maybe there are some new hardware solutions...
I think some of you need analog video output with isadora ( to enter to mixer etc... ).
I think apple don't provide any realistic solution to this, am I wrong ?
What others solutions have you find ?
I also want to focus on the fact that solutions have to respect vidéo quality ( not like very cheap converters...for what I have tried )

Thank you

Mehdi

On idea:

Use the supplied DVI to S-video ( or RCA video) out adaptor... did you get one of these? Only about $10 USD if not. I use it all the time to transfer the video out into a V4 mixer.

Yes, but the apple store says about this adapter:
"Use the DVI to Video Adapter to connect the DVI port on a Mac Pro (with ATI X1900 XT)"

and about the ATI X1900 XT:
"Based on the PCI Express architecture, the ATI Radeon X1900 XT fits into the double-wide slot on your Mac Pro or a standard plus one adjacent standard PCI Express slot. The upgrade kit also includes a DVI to VGA connector for easy connection to VGA-based displays."

After contacting Apple, they assumed that you can put only one of these cards in a MacPro ( problem of power supply & speed of pci-e bus ).
And I think this adapter works only on one of the outputs of the X1900 XT.

So this means that it looks impossible to have more than one analog video output on a mac pro without using "third party" equipment

I have tried this adaptors on my MacPro ( with 3*7300gt ), and it never works.

One year ago, I have contacted apple to ask for a technical solution...................no solution.

This is why I was asking the "comunity" if somebody found a good solution ( I think I am not alone in this case )

Good point... your post above didn't say you wanted multiple analog outs. Sorry I can't be of help.

Others have used VGA to S-Video converters with success. It's a separate device, but that's the only other way I know.

Best Wishes,
Mark
