(Note that these comments are relevent for the latest releases of Isadora -- v1.2.8 and later.) The FPS setting is the target FPS for video. If you set this for 20 FPS, then that is the maximum frame rate Isadora will give you. Then there is the "General Service Tasks". This is set as a multiple of the frame rate. This determines how often other actors that have to do with time are serviced; E.g. if it is set to 8, and your frame rate is 20 FPS, then the actual number of service tasks per second would be 20 x 8 = 160 times per second. Isadora may not always reach this goal if the CPU load is heavy. You can tell how many service tasks per second are being run by choosing Windows > Show Status. The "Cycles" number indicates the number of tasks per second. In any case, it would be these "General Service Tasks" that are servicing your Pulse Generator. But know that if your CPU load is heavy, and your the number of cycles (as show in the Status Window) is below 40, then your pulse generator will not trigger 40 x per second. But I don't really understand what you mean when you say that the Pulse Generator is "in my movie." Anyway, I hope that helps.
