Playing Full HD x 2 with multiple movies Can't Post

Hello,

Having already used isadora for Vjing,
we have to work now on a large scale,
interactive video projection for a serie of live concerts.
Right now we're still looking for technical solutions.

Our project will need, to output multiple videos
simultaneously on one main screen.
The size of the final ouput would be something like
3840*1080 splitted in two different digital projectors.

So my first question is : Can Isadora handle this?

If not. Would isadora be able to do it? How?

if yes.
do you have an idea of the kind of needed configuration
to run smoothly up to 5 vidéos simultaneously?

One last question:
Is it possible (i haven't succeeded so far),
to arrange multiple videos in the fashion of the
attached image :

Movie assembled like layers,
only occupying portions of the screen.

Thank you guys.

hi,
I can't comment on running 4 video streams at that resolution, I have managed 4 before on a Octa Mac Pro, however resolution for each of the movies was only around 400x300, and all I was doing was playing them.

So I would try dropping your individual movies down to something small, and then just make your Stage the appropriate size to fit the projector

As for playing 4 video's split on the one output, that's easy, I've attached a pict of one way to do it (I've just used coloured backgrounds for demonstration, so swap these to movie players)

But give this a try and see how you go

Thanx for your answer concerning the multiple projectors.

Concerning the stage, it really has to be full HD x 2.

Hello,

I made 2 month ago a patch for a theatre in Belgium. 1 VP (1280x1024), 2 main video (1024x768), with sometimes mixing between videos. They used a MacPro 4 core with 2 HD (Raid 1) and 2 video cards (1 for the control, 1 for the VP). I used 3D quad distort for each video (useful to precisely adapt the projection to the screen), using intensity to mix between video. The result was good with somme short freeze when mixing between video. If you want to have a video splitted between different VP, its better to have only 1 stage and use a matrox doubleHead or tripleHead.

The tuning was difficult, between codec (i used photo-JPEG with medium quality), Hard disk, effect, mixing etc. It's possible but you have to take time to prepare the set.
