Preload QTVR into memory? Can't Post

I have a patch that cycles through about 20 QTVR movies fairly quickly. It uses a soundwatcher to trigger on beats, which are fairly quick for my needs. I'm just playing through my notebook speakers, picking up the sound with the internal mic. the sound info is multipled, used to trigger, etc. Nothing that computationally intensive. But activity monitor tells me that I'm accessing almost 5 megs/sec off my drive, the only way this would be possible is if the QTVR player were accessing the movies each time they are triggered/changed.

Is there any way to preload QTVR movies into memory? Is the only solution for QTVR a ramdisk?

You should be able to use the Video Preload actor to do this, with the mode set to forever. Try it and let me know how it works here... there was a bug in a previous version about getting video into RAM.

Best,
Mark

This helped. I noticed that some of the QTVRs are not very optimized too. Thanks.
