advice on MBP purchase

hello everyone (again)
i found a buyer for my macbook and want to get a MBP as i seem to be needing more power for basic 3D stuff.
for financial and other reasons (eg it's way too early, i have soundcards, etc) i will be going with the previous generation MBP
here are the ones i am considering:
MacBook Pro 15.4in, 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB, 200GB, DL
SuperDrive, AirPort, Bluetooth, 256MB GeForce 8600M GT
and
MacBook Pro 15.4in, 2.5GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB, 250GB, DL
SuperDrive, AirPort, Bluetooth, 512MB GeForce 8600M GT
does the 512 mb on the video card and the .1 on the processor make a big difference? i suspect the processor speed will not be a factor but i am not sure about the graphics. it's being offered to me for about $200 more (i'm in canada by the way).
