multiple stages and processor load... Can't Post

Hello-

I am trying to get 6 stages or channels out of a g5, what is the best way to accomplish this hardware wise? Is it better to use two cards with triplehead2go's or four cards (ati9200) with two cards having a dual ouputs?
I will be using a 2.0ghz DP G5 w/ 3gb ram,

Which way puts less strain on the processor? is there another option?
Thanks.

B

Provide more info about your G5. Get Mactracker and tell me which G5 dual you have. There are a lot of different ones out there, and your options really depend on which one you are using.

I will be using a 2.0 DP G5 with 3gb of ram. I think it is from early 2005. Thanks.

Go here - MacTracker and figure out which EXACT model G5 dual you have.

This is important, because there is a PCI model, an PCI-E model, and an AGP model. All are different. All take different video cards.

If you have the AGP version, you will have a hard time getting multiple stages. You will also need to get ATI cards for this version, if you want a card with more than 64mb of vram.

It is PowerMac 7,2 (G5 from early 2005).
