timing sync beat Can't Post

Hi everyone

I'm relatively new to Isadora and very pleased btw. But I 'm now trying to work with a pulse control of a number of actors - video, sound and midi controllers. On my machine (1.5ghz G4/1.5 RAM) it seems that the pulse generator is working quite randomly - is there anyway to ensure that a sync tempo is maintained in Isadora?

Try using the Tap Tempo actor. if you set it to 4 rather that the default 1 Tap. Then you can trigger it to the tempo you want and it shud stay in sync. Hope this helps.

An instant without duration....

mm - and then connect tab tempo to a pulse generator? In my current experiments this is what I did - and then made the pulse generator restart a sound sample to function as a metronome. But the results here are quite dissapointing - as soon as the computer gets busy the tempo starts getting out of sync.

A better solution it seems is to create a control movieplayer that plays a movie file with the beat and then let this actors 'end trigger' control the rest of the patch. But there are clearly limitations to this implementation. I have to make a control movie for all bpm rates etc.

It would be nice if some actors were able to overrule other processes and get first in line. For example i'd also like to start a movie recording on beat which is also not possible it seems. What about using MIDI as sync - anyone knows if this is more reliable?
