stagebackground + mask Can't Post

I use a 3d particule and a stage background, and I would like to put a mask (.gif) at the end of the stage. I would like the mask not to move but it moves.
Is there a way to make the mask fix and to keep all the rest moving?
or is the only solution to use a video mixer or another computer?
thanks

Put the mask through the projector, and then render it on the highest layer (i.e., 10). That should put the mask in front of everything else. Your mask will need to use the alpha layer to make it transparent where you want to see. (Try importing a TIFF from Photoshop that has the alpha set properly.)

Best,
Mark

Re: [Mark Coniglio] stagebackground + mask [In reply to] Can't Post

Hello Mark,

Can you explain that comment about the alpha layer a bit more. I'm doing a show in a week where I need to move one image in front of another image. The image I'm moving is a tiff with transparency built into by the designer to make it interface with the background a bit better. Do I have to use anything special to preserve the transparency, or wil that be taken care of by importing the tiff?

Thanks so much for your time

If the TIFF has transparency already, you don't need to do anything.

Set up the background image on one projector actor, set the 'blend' input to transparent, and leave the layer at 0.

Set up the projector actor that displays the TIFF to also have its 'blend' input set to transparent, and set the layer to 1.

The part with the alpha mask set should be "in front of" the background.

Best Wishes,
Mark
